For decades, many of these communities have endured life without reliable electricity or access to clean water. When the pandemic hit, it wiped out what little income many families had — leaving entire households, some with up to ten children, struggling without food, work, or basic necessities. Then in 2021, Super Typhoon Odette tore through their region, taking lives and devastating homes, crops, and infrastructure. Yet through the loss, hardship, and heartbreak, what emerged was something powerful: stories of strength, neighbours helping neighbours, and a will to keep moving forward.
